‘Wasabi Cottage – Whidbey Island’ is a textile translation of a sketch that I did while staying at this lovely cottage in 2014. Sketching on location helped to capture the experience of staying there while doing my own private “artist residency”.

Artist’s own hand-dyed cotton fabric, fused then machine thread sketched, painted and splattered, then quilted.
