Uprising – Coeur d’Alene
20” X 30”
$1400
I live in a beautiful town in the northern part of Idaho nestled between lakes and mountains. Until recently, most of the town’s architecture was relatively low and the natural surroundings could be easily viewed from anywhere in town. In 2008, the skyline began to change, but in a well-planned, thoughtful way. With progress comes dissent, however.
While out walking one day, I stopped to sketch one of the two mixed-use buildings as seen from McEuen Park in Coeur d’Alene. ‘Uprising’ is based on the original ink and watercolor sketch.
Free motion thread-sketched by machine on Pimatex cotton, painted and quilted.
