There is something magical about an ocean beach when the day explodes into its last moments before nightfall. The water and sand become bathed in a fleeting golden light, that catches one by surprise. Often missed, the sun dips below the horizon quickly leaving behind only the memory of its radiance, and no words to describe the experience.

‘Radiance’ was inspired by the many sunsets that I have witnessed — and those that I missed by simply being distracted.

Fused and stitched collage, machine and hand embroidery, machine quilted.

Hand dyed cotton fabric, a variety of polyester and metallic threads, cotton and silk embroidery floss.
