While trekking across the south of France in 2019, my husband and I happened upon this little pâtisserie (pastry shop) in Malaucene, a village located at the foot of Mont Ventoux. Typical of many others across the country, it caught by eye, not only because of the delights inside the shop, but the scene itself.  I do a lot of travel sketching using ink and watercolor, so I immediately got to work in my sketchbook.  That sketch, along with photographs and memories of the many pâtisseries that we have encountered during our travels in France inspired ‘La Petite Pâtisserie’.  Bon appétit!
