A single light can sweep away the mysteries of darkness and bring peace and comfort in the middle of uncertainty. This is home.

Wandering the streets of London many years ago, a bright blue door caught my attention at the end of an alley. The plain stone building appeared to be a private residence. Returning to my photograph years later, I began to wonder how that same scene would appear at night, and I began to imagine the play of the single lamplight on the objects that I had seen during the day.

Fused and stitched collage, machine and hand embroidered, machine quilted and mounted on a painted stretched canvas.

Hand dyed cotton fabric, a variety of polyester and metallic threads, cotton and silk embroidery floss.
