At a waterfront park in Astoria, Oregon, I saw this couple enjoying a bite to eat and real facetime — both a much needed break from the isolation and sheltering during the middle of the pandemic. Their laughter and obvious enjoyment of the day was a reminder of what we all were missing. I took several photographs and did a quick sketch, just to remember the moment — one of many that makes up my own personal pandemic journal.
