After a fresh snow – slowly – tracks begin to appear.  What are the stories behind them?  Are these the traces of a nurse coming home at midnight after a long shift at the hospital?  Perhaps those are the tracks of an angry teenager escaping to a friend’s house in the middle of the night. And these tracks could be made by the city worker who has been out all night plowing the snow, while his own family is safe and warm at home. The sun rises and all that remains of these people and their stories are intertwined tracks in the snow, which weave together a rich – yet fleeting – tapestry.

Fabric collage created with hand-dyed cotton fabrics, quilted with a variety of polyester and silk threads.  The pieces of the collage are permanently fused and stitched, prior to quilting.
